Omg, I'm shocked at all the positive reviews for this place, I had an absolutely terrible experience.
When we arrived, the cafe was packed, so my mom and I waited in line. We were second, behind a group of four people. A table for two opened up, and the waitress told my mom she could sit there. But the moment my mom sat down, the waitress suddenly turned around and rudely told her to move because she mistakenly thought we were part of the larger group. So my mom had to awkwardly get up and wait again. Five minutes later, the larger group realized they couldn't fit there anyway, and we ended up sitting at the exact same table!
We ordered Shakshuka, and omg—it was NOTHING close to authentic. It was literally canned tomatoes swimming in some disgusting greenish oil, served alongside grocery-store naan clearly warmed in a microwave. The portion was ridiculously small, tasted gross, and cost us $20.
On top of that, our cutlery was filthy. I had to wipe it down with napkins myself just to use it and tried my best to ignore how dirty it was.
As if all that wasn't already enough to deserve a zero-star rating, there's more. The cafe was closing in about 45 minutes, so people started leaving. Our jackets were wet, so we placed them temporarily on an empty chair at the next table. Mind you, there were three empty tables at this point and the place was practically empty. Suddenly, the waitress came up and rudely said, in a very condescending "I'm white" tone, "Just so you know for next time, we have a hanger." I glanced at the tiny hanger on the wall, which already had at least ten jackets jammed onto it and clearly couldn't hold any more. I politely said, "Ok sorry, I didn't see it," and reached to take our jackets, but she stopped me abruptly and repeated in an even harsher tone, "It's ok, just so you know for next time." Then she and her colleague kept openly staring at us, rolling their eyes, whispering, and making us incredibly uncomfortable.
They treated my mom so rudely and disrespectfully that we hurriedly finished our meal and left. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. Please avoid at all cost, specially if you’re not white and don’t wanna face the most...

I concur with previous reviewers. Some staff members (specifically one condescending lady in glasses and harem pants at the coffee manchine who thinks she's literally above everyone else), are FAR from the 'neighbourhood friendly vibe' the owner describes. I know the neighbourhood, I've been living here for years.
First of all, similar takeout coffee cup experience as the previous poster: you get to be talked to with contempt like you're some ecological criminal, when I just wanted to sit for 10 minutes then go for a walk with my lukewarm latte (asked for extra hot). Apparently that's breaking the Finca-Ecological Law.
Secondly, there was an incident on another day where I asked for a straw for my smoothie, and got an aggressive lecture from that same lady who even raised her voice with me with a disdainful attitude, telling me that the 'planet is not doing well' and didn't even respond to my request with a simple 'yes' or 'no'. Hey, you can just say no, with some politeness on top, please. You don't know me.
I'm sorry but the owner and staff need to realize that they're a business and I PAID for a product and TIPPED for a service, so I expect some level of quality to both. I got NONE. And it's not an isolated incident. Got insulted in front of everyone from that conceited server who thinks she's the boss, but I know she is not Genevieve the owner. And by the way, to that condescending server : I know there are biodegradable straws and that plastic ones are forbidden here, and guess what! I recycle and am eco-responsible! But then again, I don't owe her an explanation, because she's probably too in love with herself and 'values' to realize she needs to treat her customers with basic RESPECT.
Never coming back here as long as she is around. Avoid if you see that lady with glasses and harem pants, unless you want to PAY for a free, CONDESCENDING lecture about 'eco-responsible values' and ruin your coffee...
Read moreThis morning, my wife and I visited La Finca Café in Montréal for the first time, and it was a delightful experience. Nestled in the heart of the city, this charming neighborhood café offers a perfect blend of warmth and sophistication.
The ambiance immediately stood out—a cozy yet modern space with a welcoming vibe. The café’s clean, minimalist design was complemented by soft lighting and a mix of patrons working, chatting, or simply enjoying their coffee. The subtle hum of conversation and the faint aroma of freshly brewed coffee created a relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a casual breakfast or lunch.
The food was equally impressive. My wife opted for the Frittata, which was light, flavorful, and perfectly paired with a creamy Latte. I went for the Yogurt granola, a refreshing and well-balanced dish with just the right sweetness, alongside a buttery Croissant that was flaky and delicious. To top it off, I tried one of their Smoothies, which was fresh and vibrant, leaving me energized for the day ahead. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and the focus on local and fine products truly elevated the experience.
The service was outstanding. Gabriel, our server, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. He made excellent recommendations and ensured our visit was seamless from start to finish. His warm demeanor added a personal touch to the experience, making us feel like valued guests rather than just customers.
Overall, La Finca Café impressed us with its inviting ambiance, high-quality food, and impeccable service. It’s a spot we’d happily return to and recommend to anyone looking for a memorable café experience...
